GW-0742

GW-0742 functions as a dual PPAR-β agonist and antagonist, with its specific action depending on the dosage administered. Additionally, it demonstrates low-level activity on various nuclear receptors.

It has been identified as an antagonist for both androgen receptors and Vitamin D Receptors (VDR). Computational (in silico) modeling indicates that GW-0742 may also exert influence on thyroid hormone receptors.

Multiple studies suggest that GW-0742 can ameliorate experimentally-induced pancreatitis in mice. It has further been shown to mitigate hypertension in diet-induced obese mice. Currently, it is under investigation as a prospective antidiabetic agent and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects.
